Or probably not, I might have something more to say once the complete box set has been released and is cheap enough for me to afford it. But for now ...
Aparently, there's quite a bit of whining about the finale, because it did not give "all" the answers on a silver plate. But think about it, isn't the mystery always so much greater than the answer? And wouldn't it ruin the whole show if they gave us "all" the answers ... ?
And what does "all" mean anyway? Everyone probably wonders about different things and has different questions, it's impossible to satisfy millions of viewers. Like, I would have loved to find out more about Dharma and the nature of their experiments, while I don't care that much about the whole island mystery.
Anyway, I was quite surprised that we got such a happy ending. Yeah, you could argue that everyone (maybe) has to die to be reunited and reminded of the most important time in their lives ... but still, it was a happy ending for the characters and also for the island itself. And that was one of the last things I expected from a show that didn't hesitate to kill off characters. I thought one of the theories that said, that the island would be destroyed at the end, was the most realistic one.
Did I like it? Yes, I think I did ... but, I'm still in the process of understanding that it's all over now *lol*
On other news: I'm in sailing heaven. Which means that I'm tired and smelly and sunburned ... and happy. Because the weather was finally good enough for a longer trip and the timing was so perfect too, because we had a long weekend here in Germany.
ETA: I totally forgot - I went to a Doctor Who TV club event. It was fun to watch with others, but the concept was pretty much to introduce the audience to the show and I don't need an introduction. I met others who felt the same way, but we didn't really mind. Because, a Doctor Who event in GERMANY! How rare is that?! I'll probably tell my grandchildren about it ... :p
