Loads of blood and no chocolate ...
When you're drinking your tea from a Christmas mug in August you know it's time to check the horizontal surfaces in the house to find out where all the more season appropriate mugs have gone ...

Also, I finished True Blood and now there's a spot on my TV schedule for Doctor Whooooooooooo (only one more week to go, can't wait). First thoughts on this season, especially the finale - what a blood bath. I'm wondering if the manufacturers of stage blood are ordering new cars or booking expensive vacations or something like that when a new season of True Blood is announced.

Why macrame died
For some odd reason I am not tired of my LJ header yet, but I did get an autumn themed one for my DW.

I ordered a book like 3 weeks ago from buecher.de and despite having like 100 unread books I'm still annoyed that it hasn't been delivered yet. Guess there is a reason why I usually order from Amazon after all. I didn't this time because I had a voucher and I can't resist a free book calling my name ...

I finished True Blood after all and it wasn't that bad ... I painted bottles and branches for Halloween though, while I was watching. Maybe that helped. But I have to say, Jessica has almost reached a Sophie-Anne hotness level in that Red Riding Hood costume. Yummy!

Also, I watched Fright Night. 2D. Ha! Pretty old school let's-kill-a-vampire movie, but it has David Tennant in tight leather. Also very yummy!

Now, on to watching Warehouse 13.

Sonata for Thunderstorm, Trapdoors and Young Women in Skimpy Clothing
Earlier today I had a phone call from a women who was shouting at me and calling me all kinds of names in French ... which was quite hot actually.
I have a feeling that "Manuel", the bloke she meant to call, will feel different about it though. From what I understood with my bad French he was dating someone behind the girls back and the shit hit the fan.

Also, I need to make new icons and a new Twitter ap.
The icons are because, well, I haven't been motivated to make many new ones with only 6 icon slots on LJ and was happy to use the ones I had ... but it's getting hard to find ones I have never used before now.
As for the Twitter Ap, mine doesn't update anymore and worse, it gives me an error message like every 30 seconds, which gets in the way of pretty much everything. And their website? "is temporarily over its serving quota" ... right.

And I'm not sure about True Blood. My two favourite characters (Sophie-Anne and Russell) are gone and I've never been a fan of Bill and will most likely not become a fan of king!Bill. At least Eric is still around.

May cause discoloration of urine
Thanks for all the comments on my last entry :)

I got wine and matching chocolate for my grandparents and of course a card and flowers for my grandma, but she always gets flowers from me anyway, because she loves to have flowers everywhere in the house. Before I discovered a shop selling these things I had no idea about the wine/chocolate matching stuff ... apparently, it has to do with the amount of sugar and how certain flavours in the wine are complimented by flavours in the chocolate. Sounds like proper science and mostly, just like a damn good excuse to eat some chocolate while having a glass of wine.

Sunday was great, although the weather got a bit moody at the end. And we had to rescue a motor boat and tow it back to the harbour. That was a first, usually it's the sailors who need help, like, for running out of wind and then finding out that they have run out of petrol too, since the motor hasn't been used in quite a while and no one thought of restocking ... which would never ever happen to us ... of course ... :p

Also - first idea for a Halloween decoration: Talbot-in-a-jar. Marco suggests we put a name tag on it.

This is what happens when I'm running out of clever things to put here
This weeks adventures in free book hunting: Thomas Mann and Friedrich Nietzsche, next to a whole bunch of pinkish, Fabio covered romance novels. I should really take a camera next time, because that's something you'd never see in a book shop.

TV watched: - "Lennon naked" with my mum. That's the title of the film ... just to avoid misunderstandings and stuff. Anyho, I thought CE as Lennon was quite convincing and I loved the music, naturally, and the costumes and all that, however, I didn't much care about the story. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it or maybe I really don't care about anything but the music when it comes to the Beatles?

- Classic Doctor Who ... to find Tom Baker NOT tripping over that scarf AGAIN. Seriously, this is low budget 80s TV, they must have forgotten to cut out a scene somewhere, where his scarf caught somewhere and he fell over. You can't wear a ridiculous scarf for that long and NOT have a comedic accident.

- Did I mention that I really don't care one bit about the story lines of various humans in True Blood? However, I do care about the story line of a certain werewolf and this one is tragically lacking!

- I want more Sherlock. And I miss Lost.

Other than that, nothing much is happening at the moment ... I'm just working and freezing. Yeah, it has suddenly become really cold and wet. Well, it has been wet for quite a while, but the cold is new. I spend a break with a blanket and a hot chocolate and that just isn't right in the middle of august. I should be sweating and eating icecream.

The Damon and Eric spin off show
I'm not too happy with the lack of Damon in Vampire Diaries recently. There's way too much relationship stuff for my taste.

How about, Damon gets his spin off show with Eric? So Vampire Diaries can be all about cheesy romance in high schools and True Blood can be all about fucking, subplots-that-everyone-fast-forwards, and fucking-in-subplots (that probably not everyone fast forwards) and "The Damon and Eric spin off show" (title subject to change) can be all about awesome bad ass vampires being awesome and bad ass?

No draft restoring over here ;-)
- ordering a little handy copy of Twelfth Night and getting a recommendation for Breaking Dawn? Fail.

- my sucking (no pun intended) vampire book found a new home. Win. I couldn't be bothered to finish it after all, so I traded it in.

- they just said "I've got a bad feeling about this" in Doctor Who from 1964. See? Everything is connected by the force! < / star wars geek moment >

- I'm sure when a restaurant has an "all you can eat" buffet this is not meant to be some kind of challenge.

- I'm missing some LJ comments / replies to comments ... since there have been problems with hackers I won't list this under "fail" but it is a bit annoying. Sorry if I didn't reply to someone though.

- True Blood is awesome when it has vampire scenes, for everything else there's the >> button.

- Also, "Matt Parkmann to return to Lost?" is all kinds of wrong, because for one thing it shows that the "journalist" is too stupid to google the name of an actor when he doesn't know it and also because Matt Parkmann has never been in Lost in the first place, which makes a RETURN highly unlikely. Although, of course, we are talking about Lost. And the Lost writers are a bit on the mental side and the writers of Heroes have created more pointless plot twists that I care to remember ... so maybe, maybe the abilities in Heroes turn out to be the result of a Dharma experiment and Matt, eh, finds out and stuff and eh ends up on the Lost island because Hawaii is really kind of nice ...

Red head conspiracy ...
That's Jessica on my True Blood icon. *points*

I didn't expect her to become one of my fav characters in True Blood, not after that annoying entrance she had at the end of last season. Let her move in with Eric and Pam and focus on them exclusively and I'll be happy. And how gorgeous is she on that pic from the Comic Con panel?

And why I smell a conspiracy? Because there's also Doctor Who and they managed to cast a Doctor I don't find exactly ... well, not really my type anyway ... and give him a pretty redhead companion. So I might end up watching just because of her ... Jep, big conspiracy right there, since my type of girl is usually dark haired.

The dead line asylum of the golden age of Torchwood ... and a bit of vampire in your cleavage
Hey, an actual review of the Torchwood audio plays ... well, it's more of a collection of random thoughts, but let's call it review because that sounds so much better.

Asylum )

Golden Age )

The Dead Line )

Also, a "contains adult themes and language" warning on an audio book looks a whole lot like a "may contain nuts" warning on peanut butter. Yes, what they probably do mean is adult themes and adult language, but my first thought when reading that? "Oh, it contains language. What an unusual thing to find on an audio book ... "

Oh, and I almost forgot that promised vampire bit. True Blood of course. I'm starting to like Jessica. I care more about her than I care about Sookie and Recycling Bill combined. Is that an unpopular opinion? (I'm trying hard to get some unpopular fandom opinions, since the Lost fandom has failed me with all that recent Ben love)

Stoned wallabies make crop circles
- There's still hope for True Blood after all ... last episode didn't have a single recycling vampire ... and no sparkling ones either. Hurray (this "hurray" is for the Eric/Pam scenes) !!!

- 3 beers in the fridge and that's it. Such a classic. Of course it doesn't make sense to buy food during the week with both me and Marco eating at work or on the way to/from work at the moment. But still. Could have been a little less cliche.

- Oh look, a recycling vampire, how did he end up in here?

eh, back to the scheduled program ...

- So, the first "Michael Jackson is alive" news are popping up, with proper conspiracy theories and all. However, the truth is that while he isn't really alive he has indeed joined El ... I mean Bubba (ten points if you get the reference).

- Also, it's been like half a week without any totally ridiculous Doctor Who news. What's wrong with people working for the Sun and Co.? Oh, right, they have been asked to work on these Michael Jackson conspiracy theories.

And on a personal note, the Kieler Woche was awesome as usual. Because while I don't care much about shinny cars shiny boats always get me excited. Too bad that they are way more expensive than shiny cars.
